A Unique Opportunity to Protect 17.5 Acres of Land for the PSLL community!

Located at 673 chemin Blackburn

This 17.5 acre property is a small oasis with hill and wetland terrain located in a very densely populated area of our domain in a narrow stretch of land between Lac Rhéaume and Lac Bataille, the two biggest lakes in Perkins-sur-le-Lac (PSLL).  In addition to providing a natural buffer in this dense area, protecting this property from development in perpetuity would provide a long-term refuge for both fauna and flora.  The land contains a significant wetland as well as a small amount of waterfront which would both be protected. We have added a small network of trails for the benefit of the community to experience passive recreational activities such as hiking and snowshoeing as well as running environmental educational events on this property.

Lease Agreement Completed

CPSLL has leased the property for the 2025 calendar year. If you are not a member already, then please go to our “Donate/Membership” page and any individual can join for $50 (or $100 for a couple) per year.

Conditional Purchase Agreement Completed

CPSLL has negotiated a purchase agreement with the current owners. The agreement is conditional on raising the required funds of $250,000 through fundraising and conservation grants. Become a member this summer and explore the trails. We hope that you enjoy your experience on the property and would consider making a charitable donation to support this very worthwhile community initiative!!!

How to support this Purchase

We are looking for pledges from the community to help support this initiative!  We need your help now, so please consider supporting our organization by pledging to donate towards the purchase of this property.  If our organization is successful in raising enough pledges to purchase this property, then we will work with you to change that pledge to a donation. You will receive a tax receipt in the full amount of your charitable contribution. 673 chemin Blackburn will be protected from development in perpetuity and CPSLL members will enjoy the trails throughout the year.

Please be a part of this important community venture and contact us to discuss how you can help with a pledge!

Snapshot Safari Winners!

Congratulations to Olivia and Grace, hereby declared co-winners for the "Photo Safari" challenge held during the 673 Blackburn Trails Open Event held on August 31. They identified most of the photographs during their trail walk, and also suggested creative names for some of the rock formations.

"Rock & Roll" (Grace), for the boulder at the very top on the Red trail

"Rip Curl" (Olivia), for the giant frozen wave on the Blue trail

Best Photo Activity

Thank you to the walkers who took the time to send in a photo from the Open Trails event which took place on August 31st at 673 Blackburn.

Sandra Felskie takes top spot with the feather from a barred owl (or possibly a red-shouldered hawk), Denis Michaud is next with the moss-covered and split standing stone, and then Martin Paris with the fallen tree across the entrance path.

Sandra, Denis and Martin will all receive a 2025 Guest Pass to CPSLL’s two leased properties (673 Blackburn and Ruisseau Carroll) to give to a friend who isn’t yet a CPSLL member, so they too can enjoy the trails this Fall.
