Ruisseau Carroll Leased Land

As we head deeper into fall and many of us venture out to enjoy the colours, we wish to share a quick seasonal safety reminder with everyone. As you are aware, hunting season is upon us and there is an active group of hunters on the property adjacent to our Ruisseau Carroll leased land. Their presence doesn’t change our access, but it does mean we should be extra mindful while enjoying the trails.

A few important protocols to keep in mind:

  • Neighbouring hunters will be most active from now until November 30th and while they limit this activity to their leased land, extra care while out on CPSLL trails is important.

  • Wear bright, high‑visibility clothing when out on the trail—reds, oranges, and yellows are best.

  • Stay on marked paths and avoid venturing into boundary areas near the neighboring property. Bring a copy of the map of our property and trails with you. See below. These paths have been marked by a dedicated group of volunteers and should not be altered. If you wish to join this group, please contact us.

  • Keep dogs leashed and close at hand, especially in areas where visibility is lower.

  • Make your presence known—talking, using bear bells, or simply walking in groups helps ensure you’re easily identifiable.

  • Cell service is limited on these trails so if you need maps, load them before you venture out.

  • The Harfang-des-Neiges logging road is off limits as it is on the hunters' leased land, not CPSLL land.

  • Report any concerns to us so we can follow up promptly.

We have established a good relationship with this group of hunters to keep everyone safe while continuing to enjoy the beauty of the season. Thank you for your care, your awareness, and your ongoing commitment to our shared land.

Discover the wonderful flora and fauna along PSLL’s Ruisseau Carroll! This map outlines the 215 acres available to CPSLL members through a land lease agreement for low impact activities such as hiking, snowshoeing and skiing (sorry, no cycling please) and ecological educational events.

We continue to have discussions with the owner as our long term ambitions are for CPSLL to own this property.
