In this update, we wish to share information about our recent land acquisition activities, including a comprehensive ecological study, our plans for upcoming educational events, and details about our next Annual General Meeting.

Below is an update on the activities of Conservation Perkins-sur-le-Lac (CPSLL), some information about current land development projects in the PSLL region, and an invitation to send your unique bird observations to one of our newest members.

We have lots of information to share but will try to keep this short!

We are writing to update you on the latest news from Conservation Perkins-sur-le-Lac and to invite you to our first pledge events for the three areas where community members have expressed an active interest in purchasing land.

We obtained permission to walk on the land from Lauzon and hosted a visit with the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) on April 27, 2022.

We have acquired Lauzon's plans for development in our area (6 maps) and have been given permission to share them. Nature Conservancy of Canada is interested in a visit this spring.

We’ve finalized our Board of Directors and published our website. An introductory meeting with Lauzon opened the doors for collaboration and further discussions.

Following the approval of the development proposals, we plan to meet with Lauzon and work alongside the Institut des Territoires (IDT). Learn about another inspirational story of conservation in the Manitou Lake area.

Potential zoning changes could have implications for the Lauzon Development Proposals. We have updates on possible partnerships and aspire to the successful conservation of Lac St. Germain.

Our questions were discussed with the Val-des-Monts Municipal Council during a virtual meeting and we’re seeking partnerships with other conservation-focused organizations.

Lauzon has at least nine significantly sized properties totalling over 2800 acres for sale. Here are our concerns and the opportunities for conservation.
